Palo Cortao offers a wide selection of elaborate and imaginative tapas – great quality for a reasonable price. If you want to try sherry, then this is the place to do it since they have over 80 sherries to choose from. There is a relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful contemporary interior. Located just around the corner from the Metropol Parasol (Las Setas), this place can get pretty busy. You might need to call ahead for a reservation. It's one of our personal favorites.

A stylish modern restaurant in Seville’s old town featuring a very special fusion of Basque, Asian and Latin cuisine. They offer very elaborate dishes using high-quality ingredients. Ask the waiter about the dishes of the day – these “out of the menu” options are always worth trying! It's another one of our personal favorites.

Salsamento offers a unique contemporary take on the traditional corner shop, called an “abacería” in Seville. On sale is a nice selection of curated groceries for all budgets, while the bar offers local dishes with an innovative touch. They only use high quality produce, mainly from Andalusia but also other parts of Spain and Portugal.

LA CATA CIEGA

Tuna tapa at restaurant La Cata Ciega

A very small but cozy contemporary tapas bar offering really good food at a great price. The tapas menu is small but has been meticulously designed and changes with the seasons. Try the marinated tuna with seaweed spaghetti and the poached egg with wild mushrooms in a sweet-wine reduction. They also have an excellent list of wines and sherries, featuring less commercial brands.

Cervecería Maquila

Cervecería Maquila features a great selection of beers, both local and foreign and they even brew their own – called SON. There are usually six beers on tap – that rotate constantly – as well as a comprehensive menu of beers by the bottle. The food is superb and each dish always has an original touch.

CONTENEDOR

ConTenedor serves creative cuisine with an interesting combination of fresh ingredients. Their signature dish is duck with crispy rice and it will make your mouth water. Make sure you save room for desserts as well! The restaurant has friendly and impeccable service. It is a little bit more on the expensive side for Seville but it is still quite reasonable when you consider the quality that you are getting. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

Address: Calle San Luis 50

BAR EL COMERCIO

Open since 1904, this classic establishment features some unique traditional décor (walls covered in tiles advertising Sherry brands). It offers great montaditos (sandwiches), tapas and raciones. However, the star is the “chocolate con churros.” Although not the cheapest in Sevilla (4.3€), it is probably the best and definitely worth it.

Address: Calle Lineros 9

LA BRUNILDA

La Brunilda has some really great dishes that are cooked to perfection. There is a lot of choice on the menu and all at a reasonable price. The only bad thing about the restaurant is that getting a table or even sitting at the bar for that matter, can be a difficult task. The place is always super busy and they do not take reservations. They do however, have a waiting list and there are usually people in line when they open at 8:30pm. If you can get a table, then great, if not, check out Zelai or La Cata Ciega which are close by.

Address: Calle Galera 5

TABERNA PEREGIL

Located right next to the cathedral, this traditional establishment is popular among both visitors and locals. Apart from a great selection of tapas, their speciality and must-try is a local orange wine.

Address: Calle Mateos Gago 22
